Abstract

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 1st Workshop on Multimodal Product Identification in Livestreaming and WAB Challenge - WAB 2021, which is held in conjunction with the ACM Multimedia 2021. The WAB Challenge and associated workshop is held to allow researchers to present their progress, communicate and co-develop novel ideas that potentially shape the future of multimodal retrieval. Based on the proposed multimodal product retrieval dataset named "Watch and Buy" (WAB), we launch WAB Challenge, which encourages participants to establish approaches to fully automatic detection and multimodal identification of products presented in real-world e-commerce livestreaming. The challenge attracted registrations of 587 teams from Asia, Europe, and North America. After preliminaries, the top 20 teams enroll in the semi-finals. After semi-finals, the top 10 teams enroll in the finals. Then based on end2end reproduced results and technical solution report, the final leaderboard was determined. The best model achieves the averaged F1 score of 0.69, which is 0.22 higher than the baseline model. All of the top-3 teams have a higher score than 0.6. For the call for papers part, the program committee accepted 5 papers, including 2 long papers and 3 short papers.

Abstract

Part of the new series, Advanced Topics in Science and Technology in China, this book discusses concepts, theory, and core technologies of intelligent theory and human animation, including video based human animation, and intelligent technology of motion data management and reusing. It introduces systems developed to demonstrate the technologies of video based animation. Each chapter is independent. Lively pictures and demos will be presented to make the theory and technologies more understandable. For researchers, this is a reference book and an update on the current status of human animation. For professionals, this is a guide for application development using human animation technologies. Yueting Zhuang received his PhD in Computer Science from Zhejiang University (1998). From 1997 to 1998, he was a visiting scholar at Beckman Institute, U. of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Now he is a full professor of the College of Computer Science at Zhejiang University. His research area is intelligent animation, multimedia technologies. Yunhe Pan was the President of Zhejiang University from 1995 to 2006. Now he is the Vice-President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. His current research area includes intelligent human animation, digital library, and other related topics.

Abstract

Welcome to the International Workshop on Multimedia Content Analysis and Mining, MCAM 2007. Our workshop gives a snapshot of the current wor- wide research in multimedia analysis. Through recent advances in computing, networking, and data storage, multimedia will create new interesting technical possibilities in a wide range of ?elds, such as entertainment, commerce, science, medicine, and public safety. To bene?t from this potential, developers need - liable techniques for the analysis, search, and management of multimedia data, as well as distributed system architectures in which these techniques can be embedded to e?ectively help the users. Recently, there have been many workshops and meetings dedicated to M- timedia, but most of them followed the standard pattern consisting mainly of oral and poster presentations. We all feel that there is a need for a meeting that really is a workshop, i.e., one that provides a lot of opportunities for discussions and dissemination. Consequently, the format of the workshop consists of 4 p- els on hot topics in multimedia followedby discussions and poster presentations. The topics of the panels are: Multimedia Analysis and Applications, Multi- dia Search and Mining, P2P Streaming, and Security. This volume contains a number of invited contributions from experts in the area as well as the selected regular contributions. This year 139 submissions from 13 countries were submitted and 46 were accepted for presentation at the conference after being reviewed by the Program Committee members.
